A Flexible Alternative to Fixed Lifting Equipment
Quick Lift is a portable, frame-engaging vehicle lifting system designed for maintenance environments where speed, flexibility, and efficient use of space are essential. Compared with floor jacks, jack stands, and ramps, it provides broader underbody access while avoiding permanent installation. It is suitable for home garages, professional workshops, motorsport support, and mobile service operations.
Extending Compatibility for Longer Wheelbases
A common challenge is accommodating several vehicles with different wheelbases and lifting-point layouts using one lift. For standard vehicles, the original lift frame can be positioned directly beneath the manufacturer-designated lifting points. For longer-wheelbase vehicles, an approved rectangular steel extension may increase the usable support span and align the contact pads correctly. A typical tube specification is 100 x 50 x 5 mm; however, the final length and load rating must be verified for the specific vehicle and lift model. Extensions must be supplied or approved by the lift manufacturer. Improvised, untested steel sections should never be used as load-bearing accessories.
Improving Access for Low-Clearance Vehicles
Low-ground-clearance vehicles present a second challenge. If the collapsed lift height, extension frame, or support tube cannot pass beneath the chassis, rubber pad ramps can provide the additional approach height required. Four pads may be positioned at the tires so the vehicle can be driven upward evenly, creating sufficient clearance for lift-frame placement. On larger portable lifts, paired rubber pads may also serve as approach extensions, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Essential Operating Checks
Before every lift, confirm the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating against the lift capacity, inspect all hydraulic and mechanical components, and ensure the floor is level, solid, and dry. Position both frames symmetrically, raise them together, and verify pad contact at a low test height before continuing. Mechanical safety locks must be fully engaged before anyone works beneath the vehicle.
A More Versatile Lifting Solution
By combining the correct base model with approved wheelbase extensions and low-profile access ramps, one Quick Lift configuration can serve a wider range of vehicles without compromising operating discipline. Final suitability should always be confirmed using the vehicle dimensions, designated lifting points, and the current manufacturer specifications.
